Labor Support for Mayoral Candidate Jenny Durkan Continues to Grow: Seattle Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 32 Latest Union to Endorse Durkan. UA Local 32 is the 6th union in the last two weeks to endorse Durkan.
Seattle (July 14) — The momentum behind former U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan’s Seattle mayoral campaign continues to grow, as the Seattle Plumbers and Pipefitters United Association Local 32 today announced their enthusiastic endorsement of Durkan.
“Our support is based on the fact that leadership, along with vision, and clear communication are necessary skills for being Mayor of Seattle. In our view, Jenny Durkan possesses those qualities to lead and govern the citizens of Seattle,” said Jeff Owen, Business Manager for United Association Local 32.
Local 32 is the sixth labor local to endorse Durkan in the last two weeks. Other endorsing unions include Seattle Fire Fighters Local 27, SEIU 775 (the largest union local in the state of Washington), the Heat and Frost Insulators and Firestop Containment Workers Local 7, Operating Engineers Local 302, and Ironworkers Local 86.
