Seattle Building & Construction Trades Council Announce Endorsement Citing Durkan’s Strong Experience
Seattle – (August 10) Building on the robust support of working families in the primary, former U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan announced the endorsement of the Seattle Building & Construction Trades Council, which has 19 affiliated Local Unions, representing over 15,500 members in Seattle and King County.
“Jenny Durkan will be a champion for working men and women, which is why we’re proud to support her, ” said Seattle Building & Construction Trades Council Executive Secretary Monty Anderson. “Jenny is focused on the future through supporting innovative investments in infrastructure and transportation while protecting workers’ safety, health, and wages. She will connect communities across Seattle with smart apprenticeship and career training programs to effectively build our workforce. There’s only one candidate in this race that understands the importance of engaging and training the local community to be the workforce of tomorrow.”

In addition to the Seattle Building & Construction Trades Council and SEIU 775 the largest union local in the state, Durkan has the support of the Seattle Fire Fighters Local 27, the Heat and Frost Insulators and Firestop Containment Workers Local 7, Laborers 242, and Ironworkers Local 86.
